    The Rooted is WOCM’s Nairobi youth ministry, which aims to nurture young believers in the word of God. Young people have unmatched zest, which makes them capable of crazy things. Harnessing that energy can be a challenge for many youths. It is therefore pertinent that young people be rooted and built up in salvation lest they destroy their lives through vain actions.

    To train youths to be rooted and grounded in God’s love and Christ himself and to reach out to the young generation.

    The Rooted Core Values

    Compassion

    Jesus Christ was compassionate. A Christian full of love has compassion. This is the ability to show great concern for others regardless of status

    Integrity

    Integrity can be coined as doing the right thing at the right time for the right reasons especially when no one is looking. A society full of integrity depicts moral principles and god character

    Honesty

    This is a factor of integrity that constitutes an aspect of transparency, truthfulness and sincerity in speech and action

    Reliability

    The ability to be present when needed in the house of God, relationships (family and friends)

    Accountability

    Ability to justify actions and decisions according to the Word of God and according to what is right. Accountability is taking responsibility as required

    Obedience

    Heeding to the Word of God and submitting to authority. Obedience trains us t be valuable people in future

    Humility

    The ability to serve God and others in all occasions as required. Also depicts service to God and to others. Humility sets us up for exaltation since the law of humility states that the one who humbles themselves shall be uplifted

    Teachability

    The ability to learn is very valuable. Young people are inexperienced in several aspects of life and therefore need to accept guidance from older people to develop excellent skillsets required to navigate through life

    Proactivity

    Ability to think forward and take control instead of waiting for thins to happen and react.  

    What we do at The Rooted

    To accomplish our mission at The Rooted, we

    1. Provide a community of love fellowship, and healthy relations
    2. Provide an environment where young people can meet, talk, fellowship and worship God
    3. Provide a fellowship for reading the Word and prayer, and growth in salvation
    4. Provide a care group where young people feel free to interact, talk, share, encourage, advise, correct, rebuke and grow in all aspects of life
    5. Learn the Word of God and pursue Him. We yearn to know God and let Him known
    6. Provide sound wisdom for life – life skills, relational skills, gender matters, decision-making and survival skills

    We work towards our vision by 

    1. Teaching sound doctrine on the love of God
    2. Getting to know how the love of God affects us as Christians
    3. Learning how to engage with others from a point of love
    4. Reaching out to the community as a result of the understanding of the need of the lost to come to Christ
