WOCM Statement of Faith
World Outreach Christian Ministries is based on the following foundations, which define our belief system and therefore our doctrine.
- The Bible as the inspired Word of God, inerrant, and contains the whole counsel of God. It also harbors all fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith.
- The Holy Scriptures of the old and new testament [a total of 66 books] is the Word of God, which serves as the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3: 16 – 17).
- God is one. The one God is eternal and self-existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Matthew 28:1-19). These three distinct entities act as one and represent the sovereignty of YAHWEH.
- Jesus Christ is Savior and LORD as God and He manifested in the flesh. We believe his virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work and His future personal return in power and glory (Luke 1:32-33, John 1:1-4, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, 6:16).
- The Holy Spirit is God. As a third person in God-head, He dwells in every believer upon conversion and enables the believer to live a Holy life, to witness in power, and to work with the Lord Jesus. (Acts 5:3-4, Mathew 28:19, Act 1:8).
- Man is made in the image of God and sinless by choice, and man fell out of favor with God into sin. In God’s mercy, Salvation comes to every lost and sinful person freely and simply by faith in Jesus Christ who shed his blood for sin and through regeneration by the Holy Spirit.(Genesis 1:26-28, 3:1-21, John 1:11-13. 1 Corinthians 12:13)
- All believers in Jesus Christ are one body, the Church of which He is the head. (1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 2:14-20).
- Satan is a fallen angel whose intent is to supplant God and frustrate his purpose, whose ultimate end is consignment to eternal punishment (Luke 10:17-18, Revelation 20:10).
- The bodily resurrection of all the dead will take place someday. Believers in Christ Jesus will rise to everlasting blessedness while unbelievers will fall to judgment and eternal punishment.
- The Great Commission is a command which should be obeyed (Mathew 28:19-20). The ministry that was passed down to us is threefold. We are called to worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24), to the fellowship within the body of saints (1 John 1:7), and to reach out to the lost (Mathew 28:19, Mark 16:15-20).
